FireStar Rose

The Firestar Rose was created as a consequence of the Black Saturday fires of February 7th 2009. The rose honours the lives which were lost in these terrible fires and pays tribute to the many dedicated CFA volunteers who were involved in the battle to stop them.

The rose is the first in the Firestar series. Funds raised from the online sale of each FireStar rose in the series will be donated towards CFA and their brigades, including the Ocean Grove Fire Brigade.

To find out more or to purchase a Fire Star Rose online visit http://www.firestarrose.com.au. When purchasing a rose online, please nominate your local Ocean Grove Fire Brigade. Funds donated will be used to purchase vital equipment and enhance training of CFA volunteers.

Are You Fire Ready?

CFA has produced the FireReady Kit to help you understand your bushfire risk, prepare your property and develop a Bushfire Survival Plan based on your decision to leave early or to actively defend your property.

Not all homes can be defended from bushfire and survival must be your main priority.

The Kit includes five linking publications plus some smaller brochures. The five linking publications have been designed to work together in a sequence. The Kits are currently being printed and will be available at the end of October.

Prepare a Bushfire Survival Plan now using the following items in the Kit.

Understanding Your Environment

Identify your surroundings and determine the level of risk it poses to your home and family.

Household Bushfire Site-Assessment Workbook
