FireStar Rose
|

The Firestar Rose was created as a consequence of the Black Saturday fires of February 7th 2009. The rose honours the lives which were lost in these terrible fires and pays tribute to the many dedicated CFA volunteers who were involved in the battle to stop them.
The rose is the first in the Firestar series. Funds raised from the online sale of each FireStar rose in the series will be donated towards CFA and their brigades, including the Ocean Grove Fire Brigade.
To find out more or to purchase a Fire Star Rose online visit http://www.firestarrose.com.au. When purchasing a rose online, please nominate your local Ocean Grove Fire Brigade. Funds donated will be used to purchase vital equipment and enhance training of CFA volunteers.

In February 2009 members of the Ocean Grove Fire Brigade were deployed on a strike team to West Gippsland where in Drouin West they saved a house from certain destruction. The very grateful owners of the house recently had a the chance to thank the brigade members who helped to save their house. You can read more about this story on line at the Ocean Grove Voice.
